Of all the youth talents that I spotted in the Premier League Gareth Bale is the one who impressed me more than anyone else. I was so goddamn pissed when Spurs lured him into their squad from the grasps of United. I really thought he’d make a great Red Devil. Anyhoo, now that it ain’t possible, I was happy to at least see him play regularly for Spurs until a few minutes back when some filth bag of a sporting director named Damian don’t-care-really made this statement:
Gareth’s injury was reviewed today and although the surgeon was happy with the results of the scans, he does not anticipate Gareth being able to play any further part this season. We are all disappointed for Gareth, but he is still very young and his long-term fitness is our priority.
The 18-year-old suffered a sprained ligament in his right foot in the Premier League match against Birmingham City FC on 2 December. He underwent surgery and while the cast has now been removed, he is not expected back in action until August. Eff you fate! Get well soon Bale.
